Overview

The Gainesville Police Headquarters consists of a new two-story building adjacent to a renovated 9,000-square-foot training center facility. The building includes holding cells, administrative spaces, community relations space, break room, and gymnasium.

Features

TLC designed the structural system consisting of exterior load bearing masonry shear walls with a brick veneer supporting steel framed floor and roof system. The predicted energy use intensity (PEUI) is 52.365 kBtu/sf/yr, indicating that the design is efficient, particularly in light of the 24/7 operation of elements of the building. Technology highlights include audio-visual systems in multiple rooms that are capable of analog and digital high definition video and audio signals.
