Overview

The University of North Florida Field House serves as a recreational gymnasium that can accommodate intramural basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer, as well as various student social events and activities. In addition to court space, the building has two classroom/meeting rooms, each capable of holding 40 people, two scoreboards mounted on the east and west walls and a sound system.

Features

Energy performance upgrades to the HVAC system resulted in a 22% energy savings compared to the LEED baseline (ASHRAE 90.1 2007) and an estimated 60% savings compared to its previous energy performance. One of the upgrades involved replacing the DX system with two new highly efficient air handling units served by the campus chilled water and hot water loops.
