Jacksonville Jaguars Stadium of the Future
Overview
The Stadium of the Future initiative represents a full transformation of the current stadium for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. The phased renovation of an NFL football stadium presents challenges that extend well beyond a standard new‑construction commissioning process. With active operations, existing infrastructure, and multiple construction phases, the risk of unresolved issues compounding over time is significantly higher. For the stadium of the Future (SOTF), TLC implemented a commissioning approach tailored to manage this complexity through an integrated, continuous process carried out throughout construction.
Rather than relying on a single end‑of‑project effort, TLC’s commissioning strategy includes multiple interim functional testing events at key milestones. This approach allows new systems to be verified before they are integrated with subsequent phases or tied into existing infrastructure, reducing disruption and minimizing
downstream risk.
The renovation impacts every area and level of the stadium over a three year construction period. New mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure spans from the service level through the upper concourses, including significant upgrades to electrical substations, emergency power systems, air handling units,
district chilled water service, HVAC systems, electrical distribution, networked lighting controls, and plumbing systems.
