NYU Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life

Overview

The Global Center brings together students and scholars from a wide variety of religious backgrounds into one multi-faith and multi-function building. The Center’s prominent site is extremely important to NYU as it represents the University’s Design Excellence Initiative for quality design and efficient use of space. The team addressed unique acoustic design challenges including low ceilings in the orchestral rehearsal space, noise and vibration control of base-building mechanical equipment, and sound isolation and room acoustics for highly sound-sensitive video teleconference and distance learning seminar rooms.
