The former site of a Chiquita Banana shipping facility was transformed into a luxury apartment complex in the thriving cultural district of Midtown Miami. The complex contains a 14-story north tower with 490 units and an 8-story south tower with 214 units, for a combined total of 704 units situated on the 6.6 acre site.
AMLI set a Gold certification goal for this complex under LEED for Homes Multifamily Midrise v3. Energy-efficiency features that are designed to help achieve this goal include 100% LED light fixtures, low-flow plumbing fixtures and ENERGY STAR household appliances. Energy modeling results from these and other sustainable design measures project energy savings of 15% and a water-use reduction of 30% over the ASHRAE 90.1 baseline.
