Overview
Providing a hands-on, engaging learning experience for students is the core function of the Emory Nursing Learning Center, which is part of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. The facility will offer a program for continuing professional education in partnership with Emory Healthcare Nursing. The expansion includes renovation of 70,000 square feet among four floors in the 250 E. Ponce building. The $20.6M expansion consists of a Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab, which upon completion, will be the largest simulation center in Metro Atlanta.
The mock hospital settings provide the ideal environment for students to develop their skills in a realistic setting. Critical components include a high-fidelity operating room, a labor and delivery room, simulation rooms, and the Home Care Lab. Additional spaces include the studio media center, classrooms, common areas, offices, conference rooms, and more. The recording studio supports distance learning. Emory is anticipating an enrollment of 1,400 students by 2025.
