Overview

A new two-story addition to the historic Asolo Theatre provides a state-of-the-art facility to showcase the museum’s extensive glass collection, as well as many significant pieces on loan from benefactors. The facility contains an extensive glass collection, rehearsal space and dressing rooms for performers at the theater.

Features

TLC coordinated with a lighting consultant to determine the power and light levels for pieces displayed on individual pedestals. To protect and monitor the artwork, we designed a robust CCTV surveillance system. The façade showcases light-controlled aluminum fins inspired by the wind, water and sand, the main elements of glass. This feature also provides shading that minimizes solar heat gain and reduces the cooling load.
