Project list

Overview

Naples Fire Headquarters and Fire Station No. 1 is located in the historic center of downtown Naples. The facility consolidates fire and emergency medical center responses, as well as fire administration, under one roof. The project consisted of the demolition of an existing firehouse and construction of the new two-story firehouse and administration facility at the same site. The new station is double the size of the previous facility and can support 13 operational staff members and three fire vehicles.

Features

With 3 1/2 apparatus bays, dormitories, administrative offices, and an emergency operations center, the station provides much-needed modern amenities that result in quicker emergency response times for residents in the area. One of those amenities is a decontamination room where firefighters can safely rinse gear and skin before entering the apparatus bay. This room is served by a separate HVAC system to prevent the spread of contaminants. The station also houses the city’s emergency operations center and is designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane. Backup generators will keep the facility fully operational in the event of a citywide power loss. Redundant air conditioners keep the critical IT equipment from overheating in the data room that stores the IT infrastructure for the city.
