Overview

The University Student Center provides a reason for students to stay on campus, with dining services, game room, ballroom and meeting rooms, outside verandas and basketball courts. There is also a six-story residence hall tower housing 196 students in two-person bedrooms. The two-story portion of the facility includes an 8,000-square-foot ballroom, with 2,000 square feet of pre-function area. It also includes “The Reef,” a 500-seat cafeteria.

Features

Sustainable systems and equipment were evaluated and selected through energy modeling, provided by TLC, allowing the design team to determine the cost and energy benefits of various sustainability strategies. TLC’s security design includes an access control system and CCTV system tied to the main campus security. The ballroom audio-visual system was designed for flexibility to accommodate varied types of presentations and entertainment.
