The Southwest Florida Community Foundation in Fort Myers re-invented the historic Atlanta Coast Line Railway Station as their new headquarters. TLC supported Parker / Mudgett / Smith Architects in this rewarding project, which is the first in the world to earn a new USGBC pilot credit. The seven points earned through pilot credit EQpc 124 helped The Collaboratory become the first project in Florida to be certified as LEED BD+C New Construction v4 Gold.
The Collaboratory is the first installation of HVAC Load Reduction (HLR) technology on the west coast of Florida. TLC, as MEP engineer on the project, incorporated this molecular air cleaning system which reduces the cooling load of outside air, resulting in an improved indoor environment as well as enhanced energy efficiency.
