AdventHealth Kissimmee
Certified LEED for Healthcare v3
Overview
A three-story tower with 80 beds was created as part of this project, more than doubling the size of the original hospital. The emergency department was expanded to include a remodeled waiting room, 24 general exam rooms and two new trauma rooms, along with improved access for better wayfinding. There are also 20 intensive care unit beds, 20 progressive care unit beds and 40 medical/surgical beds.
Features
TLC’s innovative hybrid central energy plant (CEP) allows for improved flexibility, redundancy and cost-effectiveness. It uses existing systems that are still within reasonable life expectancies and consolidates common utility systems to centralized locations. A 1000-kw generator was added to the CEP, while a new chiller building was constructed to house the chilled water equipment to support the entire campus.
