Overview

This data center is a cutting-edge facility that earned a score of 84 out of 100 on the EPA’s ENERGY STAR labeling program, indicating that the data center performs better than 84 percent of similar facilities nationwide.

Services included, commissioning for two new 2MW generators, data hall HVAC units, and the expansion of the Building Automation System. Additionally, commissioning services are provided for an ongoing project to replace primary UPS systems, maintenance/swing UPS systems, and critical subcomponents, including automatic static transfer switches, smart breakers, and remote power panels.

Features

The center features increased supply air temperatures to the data center floor and significant use of “free cooling” to reduce dependence on and operation of refrigeration equipment. Also included is isolating high and low-energy IT equipment in different areas to reduce cooling fan speeds in less energy-intensive areas of the facility. An energy management system was created with dashboards of real-time equipment efficiency and peak performance targets, allowing operators to maintain vigilance over opportunities and make improvements in the facility’s operations on a 24/7 basis.
