East Waco Library Renovation

Overview

Renovations to East Waco Library expanded the facility by 40% and modernized the existing portion of the building to provide greater access for library users. The library includes meeting rooms, study areas and space dedicated to children’s programs. It also has a larger entrance and lobby with seating, new computers and training spaces, plus more comfortable seating throughout the upgraded facility.

Features

Lighting systems were designed to provide a consistent quality of light across the circulation areas, taking into consideration the varying heights of the book stacks. In addition, lighting to an existing exterior wall mural was provided. The mural highlights the transition of the building from the former use as a grocery store to becoming a library.
