Mount Sinai Medical Center Skolnick Surgical Tower and Hildebrandt Emergency Center

Overview

Mount Sinai Medical Center expanded its medical facility to provide better healthcare services to patients. The expansion included a 294,000 square foot patient tower with 114 general surgical beds, 40 intensive care unit beds and 12 operating rooms, along with an emergency department and 750-space parking garage. Renovations to the dietary, clinical lab, pharmacy, observation, and emergency department support areas were completed as part of the project.

Features

TLC’s role as the technology consultant included all three new facilities in the expansion, requiring extensive coordination with the architect / MEP engineer firm. To provide a comprehensive IT plan, TLC met with user groups throughout the medical center. This exercise allowed users to build upon the existing IT standards and assure that all necessary equipment was included in planning, facilitating power and other requirements. We are also responsible for MEP commissioning of the expansion.
