February 19, 2020 – TLC is proud to announce that Derick Thompson has joined the firm as its Structural Operations Manager and an Associate.
With both B.S. and M.S. degrees in structural engineering from the University of Oklahoma, Derick has more than 14 years of experience in the industry managing structural engineering projects, as well as developing opportunities, most recently in the Central Florida marketplace.
Derick joins TLC’s Orlando-based structural engineering practice and will be assisting with the group’s management to enhance project delivery, as well as identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow TLC’s structural practice regionally and nationally.
TLC’s structural engineering team is bringing clients’ visions to reality on diverse health care, themed entertainment and hospitality projects that include the adaptive reuse of a historic building in Cincinnati to create the Kinley, a Tribute Portfolio hotel, as well as the Katmandu theme park in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Steve Shelt, PE, Director of the Orlando Structural practice, welcomed Derick stating, “We’re currently providing structural engineering on projects in several states, as well as overseas. Derick’s experience in national structural engineering firms supports our growth and we look forward to the opportunities and ideas that he brings to our team.”
