Citigroup Roanoke High Density Commissioning
Overview
TLC is providing comprehensive commissioning services for an ongoing, multi-phase project focused on upgrading mission-critical power infrastructure within the facility. The scope of work includes the replacement of primary UPS systems and maintenance/swing UPS units, along with a wide range of associated critical subcomponents. These subcomponents include automatic static transfer switches that support high-reliability power switching, smart breakers designed to enhance protection and monitoring capabilities, and remote power panels that distribute conditioned power to essential equipment throughout the building. In addition to electrical system upgrades, the project also encompasses commissioning of new and expanded data hall HVAC units to ensure proper thermal management, as well as verifying the integration and performance of enhancements made to the Building Automation System.
Our services span the full lifecycle of the project, including design review, construction-phase support, acceptance testing, and post-acceptance validation. Throughout the effort, we have worked closely with the Owner, Contractor, and Engineer to coordinate phasing strategies that allow new infrastructure to be brought online with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. This collaboration has included detailed planning and testing of temporary equipment installations to maintain system redundancy and ensure continuous availability during each phase of the upgrade.
The Southwest Data Center facility, constructed in 2005, encompasses approximately 255,000 square feet. Within this footprint, the data center includes roughly 10,000 square feet of office space and an expansive 100,000 square foot data hall. The scale and complexity of the facility underscore the importance of meticulous commissioning to ensure that all upgraded systems perform reliably and meet the operational requirements of a modern mission-critical environment.
