Overview
The former Miramar Police Headquarters was left in a state of disrepair after one of the strongest hurricanes on record made landfall. The hurricane displaced employees who worked from temporary quarters. TLC collaborated with Walters-Zackria Associates, the City of Miramar and various stakeholders to develop the design criteria for MEP, fire protection and audio-visual systems for the new police headquarters.
Features
Efforts identified by TLC helped the facility pass the original goal of LEED Silver to attain LEED Gold certification. We engineered sustainable measures that include low-flow water closets; low lighting power density; daylight harvesting in select areas with continuous dimming; solar water heat; demand-controlled ventilation; CO2 sensors; and MERV 13 filters.
