Overview
This two-story, 130,000 sf facility provides space for the Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) management and Police Services staff. Departments contained in the building will be Patrol, Special Operations, Investigations, Security and Emergency Management, and Fire Services. Police and fire services will have space for customary rooms such as investigation and interview rooms, a temporary holding area with cells and rooms for decontamination, evidence storage, and booking. Support functions will include areas for equipment storage, personal lockers, weight room, break rooms, and meeting/training rooms. The headquarters will initially house 350 staff members with capacity for approximately 200 future staff members. The building is certified LEED Silver.

The firm provided technology systems infrastructure design for this facility as part of a design-build team.TLC designed the following systems: Voice/ Data Network and 802.11 Wi-Fi. In addition to the infrastructure is the system design for Audio/Visual, Public Address/Voice Evacuation, MATV/SMATV, Sound Masking, Audio Recording, and Cellular/Public Safety Distributed Antenna System (DAS). The detailed system design for the Audio/Visual system in team, conference, and training rooms.
