Overview
The new world headquarters for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) was built with a clear purpose in mind: to serve as a meeting location for IAAPA members worldwide. Spanning 25,000 square feet, the single-story facility has several design elements to facilitate hosting meetings and industry gatherings. It houses meeting rooms and a lounge as well as special event space. There is also a large patio with an outdoor kitchen and plenty of seating for employees and guests to view the surrounding seven-acre landscape flanked by tranquil waterways.
Features
The building features a unique wave wall that visually links three building sections of varying heights. Numerous canopies and overhangs add to building’s visual interest. TLC designed moment frames to support the structural and lateral load resisting systems. Extensive glazing supports the architect’s vision for a modern design. TLC also designed the corral that shields six large rooftop units in the high roof area from view.
