Overview
The once-neglected neighborhood known as the Miami Design District has been redeveloped into a world-class destination. The District integrates public art, architecture and urban design to create an upscale shopping experience across a four-block pedestrian promenade. The development includes the Bridge and Jade Buildings in Block 3 and Paradise Plaza in Block 4, as well as City View Parking Garage.
Features
TLC collaborated with stakeholders and project team members to prepare the master plan for The District, forming the roadmap for the revitalization. This involvement led to TLC being selected as the engineer for the core and shell infrastructure of Blocks 3 and 4 and City View Parking Garage. Sustainable design features include cooling plants with a variable condenser water distribution system, energy recovery systems and low-flow plumbing fixtures.
