Overview
Old Florida architecture, sustainable design and advanced technology systems are the hallmarks of this Federal Courthouse. The building houses two U.S. district courtrooms with three judges’ chambers, federal office and support space.
Features
The HVAC system has controls to maintain positive interior space pressurization to provide protection from outside contaminants and other external threats. Serving the building’s central high bay atrium is an automatic smoke removal system that incorporates roof-mounted exhaust fans. These and other design features resulted in an energy-cost savings of 30% over the ASHRAE 90.1-1999 baseline.
