AdventHealth Carrollwood Surgery Expansion and Renovation

Overview

AdventHealth Carrollwood expanded and renovated its facility to accommodate the growing number of patients seeking outpatient surgery services in Tampa. Eleven state-of-the-art operating rooms and an operating suite were added. Other components include a pharmacy, a pre/post-operation area and a post-anesthesia care unit, a central sterile processing department and supportive services areas.

Features

Energy efficiency and flexibility were key goals in the design of the nearby chiller yard. TLC designed two high-efficiency 300-ton air-cooled chillers, with variable frequency drives to conserve energy during off-peak demand time. Two 180-ton existing chillers were relocated to the yard to provide for increased cooling capacity. As an additional energy-saving strategy, TLC designed night setback modes for operating rooms that reduce the amount of air circulated to unoccupied operating rooms.
