Overview

Renovations to accommodate a new experimental research facility for Mild Cognitive Impairment Care Partners. Programming includes a highly flexible space that is essentially a “Living Laboratory” and is adaptable as needed to accommodate changes in usage based on research outcomes and care/treatment options. The program includes an additional joint opportunity with the SimTigrate Design Lab students and faculty from Georgia Tech as part of grant funding of the program for the next 4 years.

Features

Acoustical consulting for tenant fit-out to accommodate a new experimental research facility for the Mild Cognitive Impairment Empowerment Program. Design services included review of acoustical finishes, sound isolation study, building systems noise control, and sound masking systems commissioning. As program requirements for spaces changed during COVID19 reopening, research faculty were engaged during acoustical field testing to modify acoustical performance of space to meet new requirements and preserve integrity of research. Programming includes a highly flexible space that is essentially a “Living Laboratory” and is adaptable as needed to accommodate changes in usage based on research outcomes and care/treatment options. The program includes an additional joint opportunity with the SimTigrate Design Lab students and faculty from Georgia Tech as part of grant funding of the program.
