Overview
The Global UCF Building houses students enrolled in UCF’s Global International Studies. The three-story building includes seventeen 30-seat, four 40-seat classrooms and a 45-seat cluster classroom, along with collaborative group study areas. There is a lactation room for mothers who are participating in the program as well as a yoga/meditation room to support student activities.
Features
TLC developed an energy model to evaluate impacts of various design methods and guide the decision-making process. With the inclusion of energy-efficient design features, the building is anticipated to be 30% more energy efficient than a baseline building. We engineered an innovative active chilled beam system for cooling, a desiccant wheel, variable air terminal units and fan motors. There’s also a rooftop solar system supplying dehumidification.
