Overview

Beginning in 2009, ADG and TLC have worked together on three projects to expand and enhance the animal services facility. The facility remained in use and occupied through all expansions. In the initial effort, two additions were added to the main building. The “west” addition expanded animal and veterinary facilities to expand the spay and neuter programs and offers separate waiting rooms and two surgical suites. The site parking lot was expanded and improved and new landscaping added. Air conditioning was added to the existing animal kennel bays with a corresponding increase of roof insulation and new roofing. A sprinkler system was added to the entire facility. The “east addition” adds a new large community conference room and facilities to receive feral cats and kittens.

Features

A second phase renovated the existing administrative offices as well as the existing animal adoption areas. TLC is currently replacing the existing emergency generator with a higher-rated unit and adding a transfer switch to provide emergency power to the entire building. The completed phases were on schedule and within the original budgets. The generator project is designed and awaiting award to the contractor.
