Project list

Overview

Completion of the new South Terminal enhanced Miami International Airport's ability to process passengers safely and swiftly – a key priority for one of the world's busiest airports. The expansion added a 14-gate concourse and baggage handling system to better serve international and domestic passengers. Spacious, airy, and bathed in natural light, the terminal is also designed for passenger comfort and convenience.

Features

Integrating the HVAC, electrical, and electronic systems with the two concourses required careful coordination. For instance, electrical engineers worked closely with the security consultant to provide power for the baggage-handling system. Extending the chilled water distribution system to serve the new terminal required close coordination to connect the piping loop at both concourses.
