Orlando International Airport Remote Baggage Screen Facility

Overview

Delivered through design-build, the project expanded Building 830, the original remote screening facility, and includes an entirely new automated conveyor belt system featuring high-speed induction, explosives detection equipment and automated sorting of bags, significantly reducing the manual labor involved in scanning, while increasing capacity to approximately 1,900 pieces/hour.

Features

In order to achieve energy efficiency goals, multiple building envelope insulation enhancements were compared to assure the best value was brought to GOAA. The design criteria package called for the EDS equipment heat to be ducted directly to the outdoors.
