Overview

The museum houses permanent and temporary exhibition galleries, the Verde restaurant, a retail shop and a grand staircase with nearby space that can be converted into a learning theater. Upper floors include lounges, an auditorium mezzanine and the Paresky Hall, along with a conference room, classrooms, media lab, reading room library and administrative offices.

Features

Air is conditioned on the third floor and distributed throughout the building via risers to lower floors. This arrangement isolates mechanical noise from the public galleries. Sustainable design features include daylighting, occupancy sensors and an underfloor displacement ventilation system with variable air volume boxes.
