Valencia College’s new Poinciana Campus comprises three buildings: an academic building, a central energy plant, and the Center for Accelerated Training. The three-story, 64,000 square foot academic building houses multipurpose classrooms, computer and science labs, student and food service areas, cafe, library and administrative offices.
TLC engineered a new central energy plant that has two 200-ton magnetic bearing chillers with a variable primary system. Our energy models indicate an energy consumption reduction of 30.8% compared to the baseline. Energy-efficient features include high efficiency plumbing fixtures, active chilled beams, desiccant wheels for air handling, and solar panels to preheat water and minimize energy consumption.
